Ease into altitude with a scenic drive through the Ourika Valley, where you'll enjoy a light 1.5-hour walk among olive groves and Berber farms. Visit a local market and sample wild honey from the High Atlas. Arrive in the mountain village of Imlil (1,740m), known as the “Chamonix of Africa.” Take a short village hike, meet local Berbers, and prepare for your ascent. Your mountain guide will check gear and explain the summit route. Enjoy a home-cooked tagine dinner in a cozy stone guesthouse, then rest up for the climb ahead.
Begin your ascent toward North Africa’s highest peak. Hike steadily through alpine terrain, passing waterfalls, shepherd trails, and mule paths. Reach Toubkal Base Camp by late afternoon and gather under a sky full of stars. Share stories with fellow trekkers from around the world before bedding down for summit day.
Start early (around 4:30 AM) with headlamps lighting the way. The summit route is just 3km, but with 1,000 meters of elevation gain, it's a tough yet rewarding push. Reach the peak of Mount Toubkal (4,167m) in time for sunrise—soak in sweeping views over the Atlas and even glimpses of the Sahara. After a rest and photo session, descend back to Imlil and enjoy a celebratory lunch. In the afternoon, return to Marrakech and relax at a charming riad.
Rejuvenate with a traditional Moroccan hammam session using black soap and rose oil, followed by an argan oil massage. Choose from immersive cultural experiences:
Evening: Enjoy sizzling lamb skewers at Jemaa el-Fnaa, Marrakech’s famous night market.
Travel through the cinematic landscapes of southern Morocco. Stop at Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO mudbrick fortress often featured in Hollywood films. Continue through the Draa Valley and on to the dramatic cliffs of Todgha Gorge. Settle into a boutique hotel or cave-style accommodation surrounded by red rock canyons.
Wake with canyon views and explore hidden Berber villages along gentle rivers shaded by almond blossoms. Choose your adventure:
Then, head east into the Sahara. Stop in Erfoud for fresh dates and a visit to a centuries-old date workshop. In Rissani, pick up a hand-dyed desert scarf at the market. Switch to a 4x4 for the final stretch into the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi. Camel ride through golden waves of sand, watch the sunset from a high dune, and dine under stars at a luxury desert camp.
Rise early to witness a magical desert sunrise and savor a traditional Moroccan breakfast in camp.
