Itinerary
Day 1 : Fes- Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
The 5-Day Sahara Desert Tour From Fes Starts From your riad in the southeast, follow the caravan routes to Merzouga. On this trip, you can see views of the Middle Atlas and Upper Atlas mountains. Over the Middle Atlas Mountains, you’ll go to the largest cedar forest to see barbarian apes. As you reach Er Rachidia through the wide, open high desert, the landscape will change as you stop for lunch in Midelt. Drive through the Ziz Valley and the well-known Tafilalet date palm estate. The current royal family, the Alaouite dynasty, is from this area. In the late afternoon, Merzouga will greet you with mint tea.
Day 2 : Merzouga – Rissani– Erg Chebbi
After breakfast at the riad, you can go out and see the countryside. The Gnawa were once slaves in Sudan, and they will show you their music and way of life. Merzouga Lake, which has many birds, is nearby. See Rissani’s souk, where the king’s family was born and where caravans from Mali’s Timbuktu meet. A lot of men and women here wear hoods. After taking it easy in Merzouga, you’ll ride a camel with an experienced guide across the sand sea in the afternoon. Our desert camp serves dinner. There are Western bathrooms at the camp, which is nice.
Day 3 : Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning so you can see a sunrise that could be the most beautiful of your life. The next morning, as the sun rises, you will travel back to the town of Merzouga, stopping to look at the Erg Chebbi sand dunes as you go. After breakfast in your riad, you’ll go to Rissani, Tinghir, and Todra, which are the tallest and narrowest gorges. After lunch in the middle of the canyon, we’ll go to the Dades Valley to see the impressive sand castles and “monkey feet” rock formations. The night will be spent in a fancy hotel with a view of the Dades valley.
Day 4 : Dades Valley –Skoura – Ouarzazate
We will go to Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate through the Dades Valley. The journey through Dades Valley is known as the “way of a thousand Kasbahs,” affording countless opportunity to capture some of the trip’s finest photographs. We’ll stop in Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose city”, to get rosewater, which will make your linen smell wonderful a long time after your vacation is ended. Proceed to Ouarzazate through the Amridil Kasbah, one of the last Berber chieftains during the 18th century, presently the Kasbah is a dwelling of numerous Glaoui people. You will overnight at Ouarzazate.
Day 5 : Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tizi n’Tichka – Marrakech
Visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a ksar (fortified town) (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penélope Cruz, and others were shot on this wonderful stage. After exploring the kasbah, we’ll travel to Marrakech and explore Tizi Ntichka port, our country’s highest point at 2.260m. We’ll stop at overlooks to take photos of Berber settlements and check into your riad in the Medina of Marrakech. End of 5-Day Sahara Desert Tour From Fes.
